ABOUT the ARTIST:

Hi, I'm Violet, a mother of two and part-time cake designer, decorator and instructor from Markham Ontario. I create my custom designs for friends, family and personal occasions.

I worked in telecommunications for nearly a decade before I discovered cake decorating in 2008. It started as baking with my son and a fun activity we could do together. Soon after, I decided to make my husband's 40th birthday cake because I just could not find anywhere local that could make the kind of cake I wanted for his milestone. I immediately fell in love with decorating after that and practiced at every occasion. Soon I was being asked to create cakes for friends and family and kept busy making their dream cakes for a few years.

After the birth of my daughter in 2012, I decided to focus on personal projects, collaborations and developing my own design aesthetics, so only take the odd order here and there now. After receiving numerous requests, I have begun teaching and doing demos.

I share my designs, tutorials, tips and best practices on my Facebook page, Instagram, Pinterest and my blog and am known for my innovative use of techniques, clean designs and use of bold colours.

My work has been featured in numerous magazines internationally and recently, I have been asked to teach my unique style in on-line classes with Pretty Witty Cakes in the UK and Craftsy in the US. I was honoured to be invited to join the Satin Ice Artists of Excellence team in 2015 and occasionally do demos for them.

The main purpose of this website is to highlight my recent works all in one place, as well as showcase my journey in caking through the years. All my cakes are posted here, good and bad. I hope I can inspire those just starting out, as I was inspired by many artists, years ago.

I am located in Markham, Ontario, CANADA and serve Toronto & the GTA. I do not ship cakes and take orders by referral only (full name required). My schedule is very limited so please allow minimum 1 month notice when possible. Unfortunately, I cannot take orders with less than 10 days notice.
